Getting started
Welcome to hypershot — a powerful screenshot and annotation tool for macOS and Windows.
First Launch
macOS
- Open hypershot from your Applications folder
- Grant permissions when prompted:
- Screen Recording — Required to capture your screen
- Accessibility — Required for global hotkeys
- hypershot runs in your menu bar (look for the icon near your clock)
Windows
- Run hypershot from the Start menu
- hypershot runs in your system tray (bottom-right corner)
- No special permissions needed
Taking Your First Screenshot
- Press ⌘⇧2 (macOS) or Ctrl+Shift+2 (Windows) — the default region capture hotkey
- Drag to select the area you want to capture
- Release — the editor opens instantly (pre-loaded at startup)
- Add annotations using the toolbar
- Press Cmd/Ctrl+C to copy or Cmd/Ctrl+S to save
