Getting started

Welcome to hypershot — a powerful screenshot and annotation tool for macOS and Windows.

First Launch

macOS

1. Open hypershot from your Applications folder
2. Grant permissions when prompted:
   • Screen Recording — Required to capture your screen
   • Accessibility — Required for global hotkeys
3. hypershot runs in your menu bar (look for the icon near your clock)

Windows

1. Run hypershot from the Start menu
2. hypershot runs in your system tray (bottom-right corner)
3. No special permissions needed

Taking Your First Screenshot

1. Press ⌘⇧2 (macOS) or Ctrl+Shift+2 (Windows) — the default region capture hotkey
2. Drag to select the area you want to capture
3. Release — the editor opens instantly (pre-loaded at startup)
4. Add annotations using the toolbar
5. Press Cmd/Ctrl+C to copy or Cmd/Ctrl+S to save
