# hyperbin

hyperbin is a free, little app that puts an animation over your Trash — or
Recycle Bin — and lets it grow as the bin fills up. Empty the bin and the
effect settles away.

It runs in your menu bar (macOS) or system tray (Windows), needs no account
and no license, and ships as a direct download. It is open source:

## The effects

Three effects ship today, picked from the menu-bar item:

- **Flies** — a swarm that lands on the bin, walks about, and scatters when
  you come near
- **Ooze** — a translucent gel that fills the bin, runs down its sides, and
  grows eyes that follow your cursor
- **Tentacles** — arms that reach out of the bin, feel along the rim, and
  thrash back under the rubbish when the bin is emptied
