# Undo and redo

hypershot keeps a complete history of your changes.

## Basic commands

| Action | macOS | Windows |
|--------|-------|---------|
| Undo | ⌘Z | Ctrl+Z |
| Redo | ⌘⇧Z | Ctrl+Shift+Z |

## How it works

Every action is recorded:
- Adding annotations
- Deleting annotations
- Moving and resizing
- Changing colors and properties
- Rotating and flipping
- Frame navigation

## History limit

hypershot keeps up to **500 undo steps** by default. You can change this (1–2000) in **Settings → General → Undo stack limit**; the new limit applies to documents opened after the change.

When you reach the limit, the oldest actions are forgotten to make room for new ones.

## What gets tracked

✅ **Tracked:**
- Annotation creation and deletion
- Property changes (color, size, style)
- Transform changes (move, resize, rotate)
- Frame changes

❌ **Not tracked:**
- Viewport pan and zoom
- Tool selection
- Settings changes

## Tips

- **Undo a lot** — Press Cmd/Ctrl+Z repeatedly to go back many steps
- **Menu access** — Edit menu shows Undo/Redo with what action will be undone
- **Fresh start** — Close without saving to discard all changes
